Next up on the restoration stage is this Censored Longboard from the mid 90’s. It was a shape I designed and had made by Taylor Dykema. I was thrilled a couple of years after designing it to see Think! Skateboards in the USA release a model using this shape! This board is a one off in that it was a board pressed with 8 laminates instead of the regular 7 laminates the rest of the production run was made with. These boards were drilled with the new pattern so additonal holes were drilled to fit the 1980's Indy & Gullwing Trucks.
It was the first version and I screened the graphics by hand in Sydney. It was on loan to a mate for over 20 years and had seen a lot of action. I repaired and resealed the deck and added new grip and a few fresh stickers from the era.
Thanks to Anthony Cowan for tracking down a Single Gullwing Phoenix hanger to make the set! Set up with Powell Peralta Snake wheels this should make a fun cruiser and pump track machine. Also thanks to Pickles @basementskate for fresh tape for this beast!
The original set up I had was Independet 159 Stage 5 trucks and black Krypto 65mm 78A flatback outdoor roller skate wheels with radius-ed inside corners I had machined off. Unfortunatly the inner core of these wheels had delaminated and began to spin so new wheels were sourced. The Indy trucks went onto a Dogtown Dressen board restoration I originally ran them on.
